Vent anonymously
Some things you can't say to the people you know. Not to your boss. Not to your family. Not to the friend who would worry.
Say them here. Type one line, press Send, and it flies across the sky, past whoever is here right now. No name goes with it — only a number, and the flag you chose. Nobody knows who you are.
Then say the next one. A yell is one line, so a long day comes out a line at a time.
One thing to know first: anonymous is not private. What you yell is public — whoever is here can see it, and it may be read later — so leave out anything that would give you away, and other people's private details.
It isn't advice, and it won't fix what's wrong. But getting it out of your head counts for something. And sometimes, someone answers.
It's free, and there is nothing to sign up for. If you think better of it, you can take a yell back from My yells.
If what you're carrying is heavier than a bad day, please talk to someone who can really listen. findahelpline.com lists free helplines by country.
Questions people ask
Is it really anonymous?
Yes. You don't give a name, an email or a phone number, and we don't look up where you are. Other people see your words beside a number and the flag you chose. Anonymous isn't private, though: what you yell is public. The privacy notice has the details.
Who can see my yell?
Whoever is here when it flies across the sky. Later it can drift by in the void, and it can appear on the page for the day it was yelled — so treat it as public. When the sky is very busy, a free yell may drift instead of flying.
Can I delete what I yelled?
Yes. In the browser you yelled from, open My yells in the sky and take it back — up to ten a day. It leaves the sky at once and the site's pages within about half an hour. Screenshots other people have already taken are out of our hands.
Can I say anything I want?
Almost. Say what you feel — about your day, your boss, the weather, your government. What doesn't fly here: attacks on people for who they are, threats, scams, and other people's private details. Every yell is checked automatically before others see it; the terms have the full list.
Is this a helpline?
No. It's a place to let things out, not counselling or an emergency service, and nobody watches the sky around the clock. If you're in danger or thinking of hurting yourself, please call your local emergency number or a helpline — findahelpline.com lists free ones by country.
